A complete Grade 3 week: five daily sheets, a word-problem page, and the parent pages — answer keys plus a short note on what the week is building and what happens if a day comes back bumpy.
Every answer key is computed, then re-checked by machine, before it's typeset. Not because someone proofread carefully — because arithmetic is the one subject where correctness can be proved, and we built the proof into the printer. A wrong answer key teaches a kid the wrong thing with total confidence. Ours can't.
Paper is slower, and that's the feature. No notifications live there. Work shown in the margins is thinking you can actually see — and a finished packet on the fridge beats a progress bar every time.
Reading. The same Sunday, the same envelope.
Phonics in a strict order, on paper. Your child learns one sound a week and reads only words built from the sounds they already have — so nothing on the page is a guess. By Week 3 they read their first real word. By Week 4, their first sentence. By Week 6, a whole story they can read to you.
The letter order is s, a, t, p, i, n — not alphabetical. Those six letters build about twenty real words. The first six letters of the alphabet build eight. The alphabet also teaches b and d two letters apart, which is the pair children most often confuse; here they are nine weeks apart, on purpose.
A decodable page is only decodable if every word on it can be sounded out with the letters taught so far. That is not something a proofreader can hold in their head — an adult reads ship without noticing that sh is a sound their child has not met. So the check is code: each page is parsed into sounds and refused if a single word is out of sequence. Week 9 fails the build rather than reaching your kitchen table.
Before roughly Grade 3, children are learning to read. After it, they are reading to learn — comprehension work that competes with what school already assigns. We would rather do the first job properly than the second one thinly.

Is there really no screen for my kid?
None. Your child touches paper and a pencil. The only screen time is yours: printing on Sunday and a two-minute check-in on Friday.
Do we have to take math?
No. Math and reading are separate subjects at the same price, and you can take either on its own or both together. A four-year-old who needs help sounding words out can have reading and nothing else. Money & Markets is the only true add-on — it rides along with whatever you already take.
Can we start reading now?
Yes. Reading is available today for Pre-K through Grade 2, at $29/month per child, in the same Sunday envelope as math. Take it on its own or alongside math — they are separate subjects at the same price.
My child is past Grade 2 and still struggling to read. Now what?
Write to support@thesundaypacket.com and say so. The sequence is built for children learning to decode, and an older child who never got that foundation may be exactly right for it — but that is a conversation, not a checkbox, and the pictures and pacing are drawn for younger children.
What if the level is wrong — too easy or too hard?
That's what the loop is for. The starting quiz places them; the weekly check-in corrects the placement continuously. "Bumpy" skills return re-framed; "smooth" skills rotate to a spaced-review schedule instead of vanishing.
How long does it actually take?
About twenty minutes a day, five days a week. Sheets are sized so an on-level kid finishes in one sitting — this is a rhythm, not a marathon.

What do you collect about my child?

Does Money & Markets replace math time?
No. It rides inside the same sitting — a few extra minutes, capped small on purpose. The Friday check-in watches math completion for fatigue; if the sitting ever runs long, the add-on shrinks before the math does.
